You hear what you see – this is the motto that A. Lange & Söhne have used to create their Zeitwerk Minute Repeater.

The Zeitwerk Minute Repeater appeared in the line in 2015. It continued the traditions of the first musical model born in the Saxon manufacture: the Zeitwerk Striking Time from 2011. But while the Zeitwerk Striking Time only chimed the quarters, the repeater in the Zeitwerk collection went further, and was the first to combine jumping numerals with the possibility of striking 10-minute intervals.

This approach to the strikeworks also realizes the main idea behind this watch, i.e. to make hearing the repeater strike close to reading regular timekeeping indications. If the time was 07:52, as shown on the watchmaker's photos, you could hear seven low-pitched chimes, five double chimes, and two high-pitched chimes.

Three different versions of the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater have appeared since 2015. It was initially launched in platinum with a rhodium-plated dial, followed by a white-gold version with a deep blue dial. And now, in 2023, the striking watch has finally been given a case made of A. Lange & Söhne's patented Honeygold. The contents of the alloy are a closely guarded secret, all we know is that creating the warm honey tone involves 75% gold, zinc and copper.

The company states that rare Honeygold is strictly reserved for a very few, exclusive models. It's true that this material has mostly appeared in the anniversary line. The story began with three complicated watches called 165 Years – Homage to F. A. Lange in 2010, followed by the "200th Anniversary F. A. Lange" and continued with three models dedicated to the company's 175th anniversary.

Two years ago, Honeygold was chosen as the material to frame the transparent dial of the Zeitwerk "Lumen", and now the turn has come for the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater.

All other aspects of the repeater have remained the same. The case is still 44.2 mm in diameter, and it houses the same manufacture caliber L043.5 with a flawless finish. The movement comprising 771 components is equipped with a constant-force escapement along with a safety and blocking system.

If the repeater is activated when a new minute begins, the hour and minute disks freeze, and the jump is only performed once the chiming has ended. Apart from that, the striking mechanism can't be activated when there is less than twelve hours of power reserve left.
