Vintage chic paired with a medley of classic complications.

Taking their own 1970s sports chic watches with an essential integrated bracelet as the starting point, Piaget is gradually turning the Polo collection into an object of desire for fans of watch complications. That being the case, the recognizable silhouette and gadroon stripes remain unchanged: an indispensable mark of respect for the classic.

Piaget's Polo collection has already welcomed a chronograph, skeleton, perpetual calendar, and let's not forget last year's introduction of the first ceramic case. The company has begun 2025 with an eye-catching premiere: the Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase.

Now the watch combines a flying tourbillon at 12 o'clock with a moon-phase display at 6 o'clock. The watch is based on the manufacture 642P movement, which fans of the brand will already be familiar with. Apart from the medley of complications, this movement's main highlight is that it's only 4 mm thick.

At this height, the 642P continues Piaget's long-term pursuit of thinness in watchmaking — there are a number of world records in  this watchmaker's portfolio. The hand-wound movement was created based on the 600P caliber, which is housed in the thinnest tourbillon watch, the Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon.

The addition of a moon-phase display only made it 0.5 mm thicker. This movement was first seen in the 2012 Gouverneur Tourbillon. Besides the watch's overall thinness, its creators pride themselves on the accuracy of the moon-phase display, which only needs adjustment once every 122 years, along with the specs of the flying tourbillon with the letter "P" on top, which is 2.8 in height and weighs 0.2 g.

Now the Polo collection has welcomed the hand-wound 642P, which has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours a balance frequency of 21,600 vph. In keeping with the modern trend for revealing movements, components of the 642P are now visible on the dial side.

The outstanding movement is housed in a 44-mm titanium case that measures 9.8 mm in height. The gadroon stripes on the dial extend onto the case flanks. They're accentuated by a blue PVD-coating that matches components in the movement.

The full picture comes together with a stripy blue rubber strap, which can be swapped for a blue strap made of alligator skin. Availability is limited to 88 pieces.
