Montblanc dedicates a new line to one of Tibet's most renowned mountains.
The collection welcomed a model this year called Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Minya Konka Limited Edition. It still has the same idea — a diver's model with an icy dial texture — but with a different source of inspiration.
This time, the watch has been dedicated to Mount Gongga (also known as Minya Konka) located in the Chinese province of Sichuan. The texture of dials of Minya Konka Limited Edition has been given a far-from-natural red tone becouse the main idea, standing behind, dedicate to the ice, reflecting the rays of the setting sun.
The watch has been launched as a limited edition of 285 pieces — a nod to where the glacier of the Minya Konka lies at an altitude of 2850 m. Similar to the previous Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea editions, the caseback is decorated with a laser-engraved image of a glacier.
Minya Konka reflects the rays of the setting sun. The red dial is encircled by a bezel with a ceramic insert, where the first fifteen minutes are highlighted in a different shade of gray.
The novelty also uses the same movement as the models depicting Mont Blanc: MB 24.17 based on the Sellita SW200-1. The caliber with a 38-hour power reserve is housed in a 41-mm steel case with a finishing that alternates between polished and satin-finished surfaces.
The watches are reserved for the Asian market and will be available exclusively in Montblanc's boutiques in China, Singapore and Malaysia.
