The brand is launching a new version of its watch with two balances.
Armin Strom has introduced a new version of their revolutionary Mirrored Force Resonance watch, which harnesses the phenomenon of resonance. The watchmaker's patented Resonance Clutch Spring has allowed them to ensure stable timekeeping with a delicate system of two balances.
Possible deviances are balanced out when the two regulating organs connected by the special spring synchronize. Not only has this allowed the watchmakers to achieve accurate timekeeping, it also outperforms other models.
The watch with two balances by Armin Strom and its unique butterfly-shaped Resonance Clutch Spring amplifies precision up to 20% compared to COSC standards for chronometer certification, and specialists at the CSEM (Centre Suisse d'Electronique et de Microtechnique) have certified Armin Strom’s resonance system as a true system in resonance.
The balances can be synchronized and resynchronized on demand by a pusher, so you can observe the moment when the two regulating organs begin oscillating in sync with one another. They start off running at different rhythms, and very quickly synchronize to achieve increased precision and rate stability.
The concept was first unveiled in 2016, and a model appeared in the line last year called the Mirrored Force Resonance First Edition: the successor of Fire (RG) and Water (SS) watches. In 2022, the original ARF15 movement was replaced with caliber ARF21.
The biggest changes were made to the movement's design, although its main specs remained the same in terms of its two-day power reserve and dimensions. Changes were made to the case size. It became thinner, down from 13 mm to 11.55 mm in height, and smaller, from 43.3 mm to 43 mm in diameter.
The new Mirrored Force Resonance Manufacture Edition Blue has held onto these characteristics. The skeletonized movement has stayed the same. Armin Strom pays particular attention to this, guided by the legacy of the watchmaker the brand gets its name from.
The historical figure in watchmaking was famous for specializing in openworked movements, so the modern watches are eager to reveal their secrets too. And versions of the Mirrored Force Resonance unveiled in recent years are generally becoming more open than earlier examples.
This year's novelty is how the dial has been finished with a technique called "grenage". The blue dial is perfectly complemented by an Alcantara strap in the same color. Availability of the Mirrored Force Resonance Manufacture Edition Blue is limited to 50 pieces.
