The 2021 watch gives you an opportunity to travel the world and delve deeper into the brand's history. A passion for travel is precisely what connects the novelty with the legacy of London watchmaker John Arnold. Arnold set up his own workshop at Devereux Court in 1762, presented a ring containing a half-quarter repeater to King George III, and devoted his later career to creating marine chronometers.

The Globetrotter Gold doesn't have any direct connection with navigation tools — the model has its own style. The Earth's globe dominates the center of the dial under the domed sapphire crystal. A gold central arched bridge extends over it with a finishing that deserves special attention. The upper half of the bridge is polished, while the sides are satin-finished.

There's a ruby positioned in the center of the dial which can be considered the center of the Earth in the Globetrotter. It's connected to the system for telling the time in different parts of the world for this model. There's none of the overkill seen on Louis Cottier indications here. In fact, there's not a single city's name to be seen, just the 24-hour disk made of sapphire glass and the continents themselves.

You can tell the time in any city on the planet — well, in the Northern Hemisphere — by visualizing an imaginary longitude extending out from the ruby center to the 24-hour sapphire ring. The only thing is you need to know exactly where the given city is located. Arnold & Son's hemisphere looks very realistic.

The mountain ranges on continents have a matte finish, while the main landmasses are rhodium-plated and polished. The oceans have been brought to life, hand-lacquered in blue with pearlescent powder. And instead of lighthouses, the coastline is illuminated by Super-LumiNova coating so that you can see the outline of continents in the dark.

The watchmakers at the company now based in Switzerland also worked on the movement. The self-winding Caliber A&S6022с which was developed and assembled at the manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds is housed in a limited edition of 28 watches. Against a backdrop of dark-gray parts with a gold NAC-treated oscillating weight, the decorative Clous de Paris hobnailing pattern looks all the more impressive.
