Pink enamel and diamonds.
Breguet's Reine de Naples watch collection for her celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. Well, that is if you start counting for the moment when the watchmaker's line welcomed a ladies' model with that exact name.
It would be 210 years if we start counting from the year 1812, when the watch appeared that inspired the Reine de Naples collection. One of Breguet's first novelties for the year 2023, which appeared straight after the watch for Valentine's Day, was a fresh version of Reine de Naples.
The model now has a dial in a soft pink shade of Grand Feu enamel. Its look is completed by a case in rose gold. The bezel and flange are decorated with 117 diamonds. The largest stone is a pear-cut diamond at 6 o'clock. The designers set another precious stone in the winding crown.
But the precious decoration doesn't end here: the buckle for the pale pink calfskin strap is encrusted with 28 diamonds. The watch uses the collection's traditional ovoid case and Arabic numerals stretched out lengthwise on the upper half of the dial. The winding crown for Reine de Naples is positioned at 4 o'clock.
The window on the caseback of Reine de Naples 8918 reveals a view of the hand-engraved platinum oscillating weight. It's responsible for supplying energy to the self-winding 537/3 movement with a 45-hour power reserve. The caliber measuring 19.1 mm in diameter is housed in an exquisite case measuring 36.5 × 28.45 mm × 10.05 mm.
