Breitling has resurrected the legendary pilot's chronograph watch launched in 1953 and known as the Co-Pilot.
It was not by chance, the model with Ref. 765 AVI has received this nickname: it used the design of famous onboard devices produced by one of the divisions of Breitling. Huit Aviation Department was established by Willie Breitling in 1938 and was exclusively dealing with the production of cockpit clocks.
765 1953 Re-Edition Co-Pilot AVI Ref.765, released in a limited number of 1953 pieces, in Breitling not without reason is called "a symbol of the company's heritage." The brand is sure of its high popularity among collectors. In the middle of the last century, the Co-Pilot watches were highly-valued by professionals thanks to its reliability and easy reading in all lighting conditions. However, in the updated version, it is a model that uses a retro style, but at the same time meets all modern requirements.
The engine of the watch is powered by the in-house manufactured Caliber B09 with manual winding, specially designed for historical models receiving a new life based on the renowned Caliber 01.
The caliber with the chronograph function has proven its high accuracy at the Swiss Institute of Chronometry.
It is enclosed in a steel case with a 41.1 mm diameter, completely repeating the shape of the original. The water resistance is increased up to 3 bar - 30 meters. The elements that can be seen from the side of the dial also have not changed: arrows and convex glass. The original luminescent material was replaced by the hand-applied Super-LumiNova color carefully chosen in the same shade.
