A light blue hue for precious metals.

Don't be thrown off by the name Stone Blue for the dial on the new Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Platinum Stone Blue by Parmigiani Fleurier. The company hasn't jumped on the bandwagon to revisit fashionable 1970s trends, where hardstone dials feature prominently. Stone Blue is the name of the new powder blue tone for the platinum dial.

This material has also been used for almost everything else in the watch. The collection continues to build on the Tonda PF Micro-Rotor introduced under CEO Guido Terreni, who has stood at the helm since 2021. It's a key component of the brand's new DNA, shaped by the new CEO. And it's been shaped very successfully.

Nominated timepieces at last year's Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) included a number of models by Parmigiani Fleurier, and while they may not have been awarded any prizes, many experts had tipped them to be winners.

This novelty has primarily placed its bets on minimalism and refinement in both the aesthetic and technical sense. The 40-mm case measures 7.8 mm in height. That's thanks to the ultra-thin automatic movement, which measures just 3.07 mm in height.

The automatic Caliber PF703 comprises 176 components and is equipped with a micro-rotor made of platinum — another foundation stone for today's Parmigiani Fleurier. The Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Platinum Stone Blue uses this precious metal for its dial, case, and bracelet.

The micro-rotor featuring the brand's favorite Grain d’Orge guilloché pattern helps keep the movement thin, and it also reveals a view of more components. This gives watch owners a chance to enjoy the masterful circular brushing and Côtes de Genève finishing on components.

The movement has a 48-hour power reserve and its balance frequency is 21,600 vph. Availability of the novelty is limited to 25 pieces: further proof that they're not chasing mass production at Parmigiani Fleurier, which makes sense when you consider that the novelty retails for CHF 85,000.
