Symbolic premiere from H. Moser & Cie.
This year, the Pioneer Centre Seconds collection by H. Moser & Cie. celebrates its first round anniversary. The series, which included the brand's first sports-inspired watches, was launched in 2015. Over the years, it has grown with different color variants of the signature fume dial (including quite extravagant versions like the lime Pioneer Centre Seconds Concept Citrus Green).
For the anniversary year, the collection is rounded out with the Pioneer Centre Seconds “Sunny Side Up” model. In the masterly press release of the company, the appearance of the watch is associated with the solution of the eternal question “what came first - the egg or the chicken”.
This connection is reinforced not only by the bright yellow dial, but also by the egg-shaped packaging. The premiere took place during Holy Week, which only emphasizes the symbolism of the watch and the egg - an indispensable attribute of Easter.
The delightfully bright yellow dial in fume technique with guilloche “sunbeams”, according to the last tradition of the company, is devoid of a visible logo (the inscription H. Moser & Cie. is made in transparent lacquer). Surrounding the dial is a steel case with a diameter of 40 mm and a height of 10.6 mm (not including the domed sapphire crystal).
The white shell shade is given a perforated rubber strap with a classic steel buckle engraved with the H. Moser & Cie logo that complements the watch. White detailing adds Super-LumiNova on the hands and on the dots next to the elongated indices.
The Pioneer Centre Seconds “Sunny Side Up” is equipped with the HMC 201 movement (also found in the H. Moser&Cie Streamliner Centre Seconds), which differs from the basic HMC 200 in its open architecture, skeletonized rotor and anthracite-coated parts.
The automatic caliber, 32 mm in diameter and 5.5 mm thick, provides a power reserve of at least 3 days. The movement is visible through the four-screwed caseback. Thanks to the screw-down crown, the watch is water resistant to 120 meters.
