The continents on a watch dial.

It's one of the most popular complications in the world, yet Omega was surprisingly late to the party with its first Worldtimer. The manufacture in Biel only introduced its first model with a world-time complication in 2017. The Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer's basic design that was first unveiled six years ago has remained almost unchanged, which probably has something to do with how young the series is.

This is clearly demonstrated by the three new versions of the watch launched in spring 2023, which still depict the continents in the center of their dials. But the devil is in the details, which have completely transformed this watch's look.

The first Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer model launched to celebrate the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra's 15th anniversary was presented as a limited edition of 87 pieces housed in 43-mm platinum cases.

Platinum was used for the dial's outer ring with stripes typical of the Aqua Terra line, inspired by the decks of luxury yachts. These decorative stripes have been inherited by the 2023 Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer.

The most eye-catching change is the map on the dial. The original version hand-crafted the map in enamel on a sapphire-crystal disk. In 2023, the depiction has been given more volume using laser engraving.

The Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer was welcomed into the regular collection in 2019, introduced in stainless steel and Sedna gold versions. Omega has introduced new materials to the collection this year with the launch of two steel versions of the model with ceramic bezels and one in titanium with ceramic.

The grayish tone of titanium is paired with a black bezel and rubber strap, where the dial displays a matching monochrome gray-black composition. The designers have made the steel versions stand out by pairing a deep rich green tone with markers and hands in Moonshine Gold.

The steel versions are available on a green rubber strap or steel bracelet. The case still measures 43 mm in diameter and provides the same level of water resistance: 150 m. It also houses the same movement. It's still Caliber 8938 with a world-time indication from the line of movements based on the simple three-hand cal. 8900.

The METAS-certified Master Chronometer uses a co-axial escapement, a silicon balance spring, and provides 60 hours of power reserve.
