A palette of eight shades by Zenith.
This isn't the first time Zenith has released a full box set of watches showcasing the manufacture's capabilities and narrating its history. When El Primero marked its 50th anniversary in 2019, the company presented an outstanding box set of three watches.
At the time, it featured an interpretation of the first El Primero from 1969, a modern Chronomaster model and future-orientated Defy El Primero 21 chronograph.
The presentation box for the three watches was transformed into a miniature watchmaker's workplace with a zone for inspecting the movement kitted out with the necessary lighting and magnifying glass. This year's new set consists of eight models, where Zenith's focus is firmly fixed on the future.
Each DEFY 21 Ultra Color piece demonstrates how the manufacture works with color. The palette for the Ultra Color set consists of eight different shades: black, blue, violet, orange, pink, green, turquoise and khaki.
The new box set doesn't include any watchmaker's tools but the presentation box is the perfect stylistic match for each of the eight watches. It's made of transparent acrylic with an iridescent finish that changes color depending on the angle of light.
Availability for the Ultra Colour box set is limited to eight. Each presentation box contains watches sequentially numbered from 1 to 8. The watches are equipped with an automatic high-frequency movement from the El Primero 21 series.
In keeping with tradition, the El Primero 9004 movement uses two independent escapements: one beats at a frequency of 5 Hz for timekeeping while the second beats at 50 Hz for chronograph functions.
