The manufacture has launched the novelty in partnership with the Alpine F1 Team.

Things aren’t looking good for Alpine F1 in the standings right now. But the team’s executive adviser and successful F1 team principal Flavio Briatore, who led his team to three World Constructors’ Championships, promises that Alpine will be a title contender in 2027.

Many were surprised when Alpine Motorsports teamed up with the watchmaking company H. Moser & Cie., who announced their partnership last year. But the birth of a model as a result of this partnership got people talking about a new chapter in the watch brand’s history, and it’s viewed as a serious challenge to brands whose names have a well-established, solid connection with F1, going back decades.

The company has followed the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine with the launch of a new duet: the Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition and Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition.

The Drivers Edition is a dynamic skeleton watch with the HMC 700 movement based on the Agengraphe caliber, while the Mechanics Edition is the first smartwatch in the brand’s history. Well, it’s more of a hybrid, where a digital module is coupled with the familiar fumé dial.

Nods to Alpine Motorsports can be found here: the HMC 700 rotor reminds you of wheel rims on the Alpine A110, the V-shaped bridges look like single-seater suspensions, and the central bridge on the caseback is shaped like a driver’s helmet. The unconventional racing architecture in the Drivers Edition is framed by a blue PVD-coated steel case measuring 42.3 mm × 14.12 mm.

An even more serious challenge to the established F1 watch partners is posed by the second model. It’s powered by Caliber D10, developed with a Swiss company called SEQUENT, who make smartwatches with the same brand name.

The digital model measuring 32.5 mm × 33.9 mm × 6.9 mm provides important functions for race participants: a split-seconds chronograph, perpetual calendar, GMT function with country selector, plus F1 mode with countdowns to the start on race weekends. The digital display sits below a familiar display with hands, configured in Funky Blue fumé.

The movement is housed in a steel Streamliner case that measures 42.6 mm 14.4 mm, featuring an extra “SYNC” push-button to engage race mode and synchronize data with the watch’s connected functions.

The skeleton is only available as a set with the smart model, limited to 200 pairs. However, the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition is also available individually to select owners of the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine.
