The watch metaverse. Yes, that's a thing now.
H. Moser & Cie. is a company famous for being pointedly faithful to tradition. Yet this company is at the digital cutting edge with its Genesis project in December 2022.
The brand has unveiled a watch and created its own virtual headquarters, combining all of today's top trending topics: from crypto wallets to NFT art and even insurance for digital assets.
The project enlisted the help of Aura Blockchain Consortium (established by LVMH, Prada Group, Cartier and joined by OTB Group and Mercedes-Benz to provide a single global blockchain solution for the lifecycle of luxury goods), the insurance company Zurich Switzerland, the service Crossmint for creating, selling and storing NFTs, along with the developer of the Salesforce management suite for "life" in Web 3.0.
Thanks to this outstanding lineup of partners, H. Moser & Cie. has been able to "build" a headquarters in the metaverse (a few press conferences have already been held there). They've also created a digital NFT work of art and a system for clients to trace their model's history, access warranty information and customer services etc.
The Endeavour Center Seconds Genesis watch serves as the key which opens the door to the virtual world — the QR code engraved beneath the watch dial’s sapphire crystal to be more precise. This is a watch with a deliberately futuristic design.
The titanium bezel and winding crown have completely shattered the smooth look, which appear pixelated. They've also been created using modern 3D-printing technology.
The timekeeping display takes a backseat on the Endeavour Center Seconds Genesis: you may miss its black hands at first glance, moving behind the QR code on the dial's ultra-black backdrop made from the brand's favorite Vantablack material.
It still has classic Swiss mechanics. Housed inside the steel case measuring 40 mm is the automatic HMC 200 movement with a Straumann hairspring and a three-day power reserve. Automatic winding is performed by an 18-karat gold rotor engraved with the company's logo, which can be viewed through the transparent caseback.
