This novelty combines multiple design assets from previous models.
The beginning of the year saw the Hastroid Green Nebula released with neon elements. It was followed by the Hastroid Green Laser, where the bright dash of color extends out onto the case. This year also witnessed the debuts of HYT Supernova Blue Moon Runner and HYT Moon Runner White Neon: watches with imposing 3D lunar spheres in the center of their dials, encircled by calendar disks indicating the date and month.
The HYT Hastroid Supernova Blue was unveiled to the world just ahead of the Geneva Watch Days, which borrows its unconventional blue hue from the Supernova Blue Moon Runner. The minute scale and colored fluid used for the retrograde hour indication have turned blue too. They’re paired with a blue Alcantara microfiber insert on the black rubber strap.
The model has remained true to the liquid timekeeping display and still uses the manually wound caliber 501 CM developed with Eric Coudray. It comprises 352 components and offers a 72-hour power reserve. The sizable 48-mm case makes its contribution to the overall feel of the HYT Hastroid Supernova Blue.
It's made of titanium and carbon and consists of 64 parts, while the complicated dial is assembled from 50 parts. The numerals made of Lumicast are placed on a black mesh backdrop and the openworked movement in the center displays a technical silhouette of bridges.
It allows you to observe the bellows at work, which control the flow of liquid in the capillary (a one-minute progression of the liquid equals a 1.5-micron move of the bellow). HYT is still feeling out this new aesthetic.
The HYT watch line is now being marketed like a fleet of spacecraft by Davide Cerrato at the company's helm, who himself is known for posing with lightsabers. We can only wait and see how this cosmic theme will develop going forward.
