Subtle Italian connection.
The Hautlence brand was acquired by the MELB Holding in 2012, who also own H. Moser & Cie. Now the brand is proactively developing three of its collections in particular: Linear, Sphere and Vagabonde. For collectors' convenience, models in the beloved TV-shaped cases are divided into collections based on their displays.
Watches in the Linear collection have a vertical hour display, Sphere watches display jumping hours on small spheres, but the Vagabonde has a much more complicated display with wandering hours, where hours are shown on one of three windows under the sapphire minute disk.
Just before Watches and Wonders 2025, Hautlence has unveiled a novelty to the public in its Linear collection with bright red highlights. Marketing specialists even invited the Italian journalist watch Andrea "I AM CASA" to comment on the choice of color, who explains that red is the color of Italy and the race cars that the country manufactures.
The left side of the multi-layered dial is where the linear retrograde jumping hour display is traditionally placed. To its right is the retrograde indication for the minutes on a round disk made of sapphire crystal around openworked details of the movement.
The flying tourbillon can be found at 6 o'clock, which has a classic look that's balanced out by its ultra-modern design. The large numerals are cut out of Globolight. Agenhor is behind this complicated display, who collaborated on the D50 movement and created the display module in their workshop.
MELB Holding acquired a stake in the movement maker in 2023, so you could say that Hautlence's calibers are developed in-house. The movement comprises 239 components, runs at a frequency of 3 Hz, and guarantees a 72-hour power reserve.
The rotor can be viewed through the transparent caseback. It's stamped with a Möbius strip, which Hautlence uses as its logo. The movement is housed in a steel case that measures 43 mm × 50.8 mm × 12.2 mm with polished and satin-brushed surfaces. Availability of the novelty is limited to 28 pieces.
