Platinum on platinum: a debut combination in Romain Gauthier's line of luxury sports watches.
The C by Romain Gauthier Platinum Edition Bracelet is literally the trailblazing model of heavy luxury: the fully assembled watch weighs 350 g. The novelty was launched in the Heritage collection for platinum watches instead of the Freedom collection reserved for titanium models.
The indie brand's line has already featured platinum watches, but their cases were paired with rubber straps. Here we have a platinum case measuring 41 mm × 9. 55 mm, paired with a hefty integrated platinum bracelet.
The model adheres to broadly the same design established by the brand's previous watches. Overall, this is a full-fledged C by Romain Gauthier, which has inherited the characteristic bezel, only in platinum this time round.
Its round bezel has been given the traditional six polished facets. The idea of alternating polished and matte surfaces spills over onto the bracelet, which has outstandingly shiny central connecting elements.
The bouchardé technique seen on the dial of the Titanium Edition Five model has been used again to create the texture on this dial. The dial has been finished by hand to create dynamic zones.
The brushing is done at varying angles on random sections of the dial to create further unparalleled play on light. On the C by Romain Gauthier Platinum Edition Bracelet, this finish has been applied to a white-gold dial with a blue PVD-coating — the same material used for the movement.
The imposing indexes and hands are also made of white gold. Another notable detail on the C watches is the open subdial for the small seconds at 7 o'clock. The platinum model model houses a hand-wound movement that consists of 154 components.
Apart from white gold, the movement also features components made of steel, brass, and German silver. The watch's balance frequency is 28,800 vph, and it has a 60-hour power reserve.
