Samuel Ross, founder of the fashion label A-COLD-WALL, is introducing his third watch with Hublot.
Samuel Ross has previously teamed up with Nike and Dr. Martens, and will be launching exclusive menswear collections with Zara from next year. The collaboration master's connection with the watch brand Hublot began in 2019 when he won Hublot Design Prize.
Ross created an original sculpted composition for Hublot out of innovative materials. The designer and artist, whose work can be found in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and London's Victoria & Albert Museum, became a brand ambassador a year later.
The perforated surface on the first timepiece collaboration by Hublot and Ross in 2022 was a nod to his initial stylistic approach. A honeycomb structure was the basis of the design for the Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross with bright orange details.
Honeycombs appeared on the side of the case, the rubber strap, and even components in the movement — the designer's artistic vision shaped the novelty's entire appearance. The model for their third collaboration arrived at the end of 2024 as a 50-piece limited edition series: the Big Bang Tourbillon Carbon SR_А by Samuel Ross.
The watch has imposing dimensions (the Big Bang case measures 44 mm in diameter and 13.75 mm in height), but it used the same design cues, driven by the same idea of lightness and ethereality. The novelty has taken the execution to the next level.
Openworked titanium has been replaced by fibrous carbon. A second important change has been made to the color scheme — the new model blends different shades of gray and blue. In other words, the warm palette has been swapped for cool hues.
The watch is equipped with a HUB6035 caliber that comprises 264 components. On the dial side, the watch owner will be able to see the micro-rotor at 12 o'clock and the tourbillon at 6 o'clock.
It accumulates a 72-hour power reserve. As per tradition, the presentation box that watches by Hublot and Samuel Ross come in also stands out for its innovative design.
