The Polaris collection revived five years ago welcomes a new chronograph.

The collection has already featured watches with this complication, but this novelty has a few surprises in store: a new movement, new dial composition, new tones and highlights. The dial is still divided into three concentric sectors like the historic original Memovox.

The applied logo is placed on the edge of the sunray-brushed center. The middle ring with applied hour markers has a grained texture. Both of these elements have a gradient color transition, each with their own graduation from light to dark, and both of them are coated in transparent lacquer.

Gradation of the multiple nuances in tone to achieve the color transition requires skilled artisans with a special level of mastery. Finally, the dial is encircled by a third ring with a tachymeter scale.

This scale is more than a display of complex decoration, it also shows that Polaris has finally departed from their deep water theme. It's now a practical sporty watch for everyday wear.

The Polaris Chronograph for 2023 is available in blue- and gray-dial editions. Orange details have also been added to their palette: the tip of the central chronograph seconds hand and the highlighted numbers "60" and "30". Another change in the dial's composition has been made to the large hands: now they're skeletonized.

The dial still has two counters like previous watches, but they've changed in terms of functionality. While the dial used to sport 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters, a small seconds hand now keeps the 30-minute counter company.

The removal of the 12-hour counter has been accompanied by a new automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre 761 movement with a 65-hour power reserve. The novelty uses a steel case measuring 42 mm in diameter, which preserves characteristic Polaris traits, including the sharply curved lugs, thin bezel, and large winding crown. The novelty provides a water resistance of 100 meters.
