Innovative alloys, precious stones, and space meteorites - no one will stop modern watchmakers from experimenting with materials.

Brand Jaquet Droz set an angel riding a chariot amid a petrified tree of the Chinchilla Red breed, named after the town of Chinchilla in eastern Australia. Scientists estimate the age of wood formed by sedimentation of volcanic ash on coniferous trees at 140-180 million years. The dial, on which the arrows rotate, is made of onyx.

Pierre Jaquet-Droz was famous for creating moving mechanical figures. You can “activate” the Loving Butterfly Automaton Chinchilla Red as well. The butterflies harnessed to the chariot begin to “flutter,” and the wheel under the angel starts to spin. The illusion of movement is created by not rotating all the spokes.

The dial of each unit is unique not only because of the originality of the pattern on the Chinchilla Red fragment but also because of the decoration of all the details by hand.

Just look at the golden trees with trunks 0.2 mm thick and engraved veins of bark with an individual pattern engraved on them! Luxury and reserve: a three-dimensional dial in brown tones frames the rose gold case.
