A model dedicated to the anniversary of one of the most important Asian watch retailers.
In the RGB color space, the color petrol green is 37% green and 42% blue. The ratio of color components in the natural tone of the South China Sea can't be broken down that accurately.
But the tone of the sea waves that lap at the shores of Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia was Laurent Ferrier's direct source of inspiration when creating the Grand Sport Tourbillon Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition.
This watch was created as a twelve-piece limited edition to mark the 70th anniversary of one of the most important Asian watch retailers — Sincere Watch Limited — who operate in countries on the South China Sea.
The chain which brings together over 20 boutiques was acquired by Cortina Holdings in 2021. Two years ago, Cortina celebrated 50 years in business, collaborating with Patek Philippe, Cartier, Chopard, Blancpain, Corum, Franck Muller and TAG Heuer.
Sincere has gone down a well-trodden road, presenting another special version of a partner brand's watch to mark the big date.
Laurent Ferrier's novelty follows the Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Concept MD Purple Enamel Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition by H. Moser & Cie. It's interesting that both models stand out for their vivid dials (first purple, now petrol green), as well as their decorative dial features.
It was the first time that H. Moser & Cie. used Grand Feu enamel in their Pioneer collection, and now Laurent Ferrier has decorated the dial of the Grand Sport Tourbillon with engraving for the first time.
The engraving replicates the waves of the same South China Sea. In all other aspects, the Grand Sport Tourbillon Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition continues the traditions of the series launched in 2019.
That was when Laurent Ferrier unveiled their take on luxury sports watches, introducing a model in a tonneau-shaped case with a cushion-shaped bezel, housing a tourbillon movement openworked on the caseback side.
The novelty for the Singapore-based chain uses the same manually wound LF619.01 with an 80-hour power reserve and impressive parallel bridges. The caliber is housed in a red-gold case measuring 44 × 13.4 mm.
