In January, a new version of the LM Perpetual watch from the MB&F brand was released.

The model, which was initially released in 2015 and was launched in platinum, titanium, white, and rose gold, now has a body made of returning to fashion yellow gold.

In 2016, it was no accident that LM Perpetual received the award in the category "Clock with calendar" at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix - its architecture completely reverses the idea of an eternal calendar.

This approach is typical for the entire Legacy Machine collection, in which MB&F founder Maximilian Busser, together with invited craftsmen, rethinks the achievements of watchmakers of the past.

For this project, Besser invited Stephen McDonnell, an independent watchmaker from Northern Ireland, who abandoned the usual calendar module that connects to the mechanism using a large lever and used a "mechanical processor" built into the caliber instead of the usual. Unlike a regular calendar, which is programmed for a 31-day month as the default and "skips" extra days for the shorter months, the "processor" adds the necessary numbers to 28 days. This helps protect the calendar mechanism, which is usually prone to damage.

The mechanism with a calendar is placed above the dial and also rejects traditional windows and allows you to make calendar elements completely open to view.
