A special edition for everyday wear.

Watch retailers who communicate directly with clients know what collectors' want firsthand. These days it's also perfectly feasible to react to their changing demands without necessarily owning your own watch manufacture — all you need to do is team up with a watch brand on a partner project.

Not only does this popular practice facilitate the creation of valuable versions of familiar models, it also takes the specifics of demand into account.

That's how the Singaporean retailer Sincere Fine Watches operates, whose range has featured special limited editions by H.  Moser & Cie., Montblanc, Armin Strom, Greubel Forsey, Laurent Ferrier and Lang & Heyne.

The fruit of their latest collaboration responds to the demand for subtle models for everyday wear. It doesn't have any extra complications or imposing dimensions. This is the edition released by Parmigiani Fleurier.

The Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Steel Pacific Blue SHH Edition is a two-hand watch with a date aperture in the brand's characteristic minimalist style. The size of the steel case is a universal 40 mm, and it measures just 7.8 mm in height (a suitable option for suits).

But you certainly can't call this model simple. Its knurled bezel is made of platinum, a material frequently used by Parmigiani Fleurier, and it's also used for the movement's micro-rotor. Meanwhile, the dial is engraved with the Grain d’Orge guilloché pattern, which makes many of this watchmaker's pieces stand out.

The dial of the edition for SHH has been turned blue, which makes the barley-grain pattern remind you more of rippling ocean waves. The dial doesn't have any unnecessary extras: short markets, delta-shaped hands, a date aperture at 6 o'clock in the same tone as the dial and the brand's small logo at 12 o'clock.

SHH and Parmigiani Fleurier presented the first model they made in partnership last year. It was the Tonda PF Annual Calendar Steel SHH Limited Edition, but they've place their bets on a simpler edition for 2023.

The two hands are controlled by an ultra-thin PF703 movement, which comprises 160 components. The caliber measures a mere 3 mm in height. The Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Steel Pacific Blue SHH Edition is available as a limited edition series of 50 pieces.
