The idea of flickering aventurine for the dial of the new Tonda 1950 Moonbow model by the watchmaker Michel Parmigiani was prompted by the restoration of watches from the beginning of the 19th century.
Cages with a bird hanging from the ceiling so that the dial at the bottom is visible. Archival records reported that aventurine overlays initially filled the place of the preserved blue paint. The master managed to return to aventurine in the model of his brand.
"Star" aventurine is adjacent to the soaring tourbillon, located at "7 o'clock" and making one round in 60 seconds.
This place for complexity was not chosen by chance: thus, the Parmigiani Fleurier watch contains a hint at the time of Michelle's birth - 7 a.m. on December 2, 1950. Another atmospheric design touch is a moon rainbow of multi-colored stones on a bezel. It is formed by 40 blue, pink, orange and yellow sapphires, rubies, tsavorites, and baguette-cut amethysts with a total weight of 2.59 carats.
The sophistication of the design is supported by the refinement used in the Tonda 1950 Moonbow mechanism. To reduce the height of the PF517 automatic caliber to 3.4 mm, engineers integrated the micro-rotor directly into platinum. As a result, the thickness of the rose gold case is 9.4 mm, with a 40.2 mm diameter. The power reserve consisting of 207 parts of the mechanism is 48 hours.
