On July 11, a truly unique model will be presented at Sotheby's auction in Hong Kong. The Ressence Type 1 Slim "Ayrton & Finlay "watch was launched specifically for the auction based on the design created by an ordinary watch lover, not a professional designer.
This story began at the peak time of the coronavirus epidemic. Many brands tried to entertain their fans with the release of colorings depicting their most famous models. Ressence also did the same thing, but made the task more creative and initiated the "Time to Draw" watch design competition with a unique prize: the winner's drawing was to be used as a base for a real watch design, which would then be sold by one of the most prestigious auction houses.
The victory was won by the Englishman Raymond Ramsden, who gave a detailed explanation for all the shades he chose. The titanium watch, which is tentatively priced at 150-300 Hong Kong dollars, uses the following colors: blue (a symbol of the planet Earth), yellow (the Sun — a symbol of warmth and life), white (the Moon — a symbol of romance and dreams), and red (a reminder of the fight against the virus). The red color was also used for the marker "19". The back cover is engraved with Ayrton & Fin - these are the names of the two children of the winner.
The watch is a new version of one of the most famous models launched by the Ressence brand founded in 2010.
To display the time in Type 1 watches, rotating in a circle flat performance indicator is used. All the proceeds from the sale of the unique Type 1 watches will be transferred to the Covid-19 study program at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium).
