Grand Complication category

The most expensive, prestigious, and rare (few in number or piece unique) are watches of the Grand Complication category. This class includes items with mechanisms that combine at least three complications from three different groups:

(timing complications)

(timing complications): chronograph, chronograph with a countdown function, split chronograph, chronograph with independent/jumping seconds, etc. 

(astronomical complications)

(astronomical complications) the annual calendar, perpetual calendar (automatically takes into account leap years), moon phases, equation of time, tide indicator, etc.

(striking complications)

(striking complications) alarm, 5-minute / half-quarter / quarter repeater, striking mechanism, etc.
